Drinking water - our No. 1 foodstuff

As the drinking water supplier for the municipality of Bestwig and the towns of Meschede and Olsberg, we have an essential responsibility: the provision of clean, safe and high-quality drinking water in our supply area. Water is not only a basic need, but also the basis for health, the economy and social well-being. Our aim is to reliably guarantee this supply, even in times of growing challenges.

Resource conservation as a core task
The basis of any drinking water supply is an intact environment. The protection of groundwater and surface water is therefore a key concern. Through cooperation with farmers, authorities and environmental protection organisations, we are committed to sustainable land use and reduced pollution.

Innovative technologies and infrastructure
Modern technologies enable us to utilise water resources efficiently. Our plants are designed to meet the highest hygiene standards. At the same time, we invest in the continuous modernisation of pipeline networks in order to minimise losses and increase the security of supply.

Challenges of the future
Climate change, urbanisation and increasing water demand present us with new challenges. Extreme weather events, such as long periods of drought or heavy rainfall, affect the availability and quality of water resources. In order to be prepared for this, we rely on forward-looking water management and resilient supply systems.

As a drinking water supplier, we are aware of our responsibility to ensure the security of this vital resource today and in the future - for people and the environment.
